Common use of Establishing MBE/WBE Status Clause in Contracts

Establishing MBE/WBE Status. A. A minority owned business shall be considered an MBE only if it has been certified as a minority business enterprise by the Supplier Diversity Office (“SDO”). B. A woman owned business shall be considered a WBE only if it has been certified as a woman business enterprise by SDO. C. Certification as a disadvantaged business enterprise (“DBE”), certification as an MBE/WBE by any agency other than SDO, or submission of an application to SDO for certification as an M/BEWBE shall not confer MBE/WBE status on a firm for the purposes of this Contract. Please note that only firms SDO certified as MBE or WBEs can be credited toward meeting project MBE or WBE goals.
