Common use of Establishment of U.S. Type Certification Basis Clause in Contracts

Establishment of U.S. Type Certification Basis. (a) New type certificates. The FAA will develop the certification basis using: (1) For type designs that do not hold an approval from the CAAI, the applicable airworthiness standards in effect on the date the application is made to the FAA; or (2) For type designs that hold an approval from the CAAI, the applicable airworthiness standards in effect on the date the application was made to the CAAI for a domestic TC.
