Evaporation Pond Sample Clauses
The Evaporation Pond clause defines the requirements and standards for the construction, operation, and maintenance of evaporation ponds used for managing liquid waste or process water. Typically, this clause outlines specifications such as pond size, lining materials, monitoring protocols, and environmental safeguards to prevent contamination of surrounding soil and groundwater. Its core practical function is to ensure that liquid waste is safely contained and disposed of through evaporation, thereby minimizing environmental risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Evaporation Pond. The evaporation pond collects start-up flush water and cooling tower blowdown wastewater for disposal. This allows for disposal of settleable solids and pollutants on a rubberized liner which prevents the start-up and blowdown wastewater from entering the Gila River and the groundwater regional aquifer well water system. The present pond is 250 surface acres. The future ponds will comprise an additional 455 acres. This system includes the earthen dike surrounding the pond, a rubberized liner and related environmental monitoring ▇▇▇▇▇ and equipment.
