Exchange Teaching Program. A leave of absence of up to two (2) years may be granted to any teacher who has completed five (5) years of service in the Bedford Central School District for the purpose of participating in exchange teaching programs in other states, territories or countries. The Board shall compensate any teacher granted such a leave on the basis of the teacher’s regular salary status. Upon return from such leave, a teacher will be placed on the salary schedule at the level which he/she would have achieved had he/she remained actively employed in the school district during the period of his/her absence.
