Common use of Existing Utilities Clause in Contracts

Existing Utilities. 3.28.1 Prior to the start of any grinding or any excavation, the Contractor shall be responsible for notifying Underground Services Alert (USA) 800-642-2444 at least 5 days prior to beginning underground work so that existing utilities can be marked in the field. The Contractor is responsible for the location of all utilities, both public and private. Contractor shall give specific address for grinding or excavation location. Each location shall be marked by the Contractor in the field with white paint.
