Extra-Curricular Assignments. Subd. 1. Additional time worked under Article VI (Salary Schedules and Placement), Section 3 (Differentials), Subd. 4-8, Section 7 (Extended Time), 8 (Coaches), 9 (Coaching Compensation Plan), 10 (Middle School Athletic Coordinator), 11 (Extra Curricular Assignments), and 12 (Department and Curricular Chairpersons) will be in the form of an assignment stated on the teacher's individual contract. Such assignment will be considered severable from the basic teacher contract for the purpose of permitting a teacher or the School Board to terminate the extra assignment portion of the contract by serving written notice of such intent prior to April 1 of the school year preceding the school year in which the service is to be performed. Discontinuance of the extra assignment shall not in itself be considered grounds for termination of the teaching assignment.

Extra-Curricular Assignments. The Board will grant extra pay to those employees who are selected each year by their principal and who agree to perform athletic director and coaching assignments beyond the regular work day as shown on the following chart. Compensatory time will not be granted in lieu of payment for these assignments. Extra-Curricular Assignments. All members shall be assigned no more than three extra-curricular assignments per school year. Before assignments are made, each member will be given the opportunity to select the extra- curricular assignments he/she prefers.

Extra-Curricular Assignments. The compensation for extra-curricular assignments annually made by the Board of Education is set forth in Schedule B, which is attached hereto and incorporated in this Agreement.
Extra-Curricular Assignments. Teachers given extra-curricular assignments set forth in the extra-curricular salary schedule (Appendix E) will receive separate contracts for such duties and shall be compensated according to the extra- curricular salary schedule contained in this Agreement. Extra-curricular positions will be noticed to bargaining unit members according to the vacancy clause (Section 9.2) of the Agreement, however, the school can hire from outside the district. The district recognizes the advantages of having coaches on staff who are able to interact and communicate with students, interact and communicate with administration, monitor athletes’ academic standing and communicate with other teachers regarding those athletes, and be an integral part of the daily school culture. Therefore, any bargaining unit member who applies shall receive an interview. Any suitable bargaining unit member will receive preference in hiring. Anyone holding an extra-curricular position will be paid according to the negotiated extra-curricular schedule.
