Its core function is to provide a structured framework for faculty development opportunities, ensuring transparency and consistency in how fellowships are awarded and managed.
Faculty Fellowship Program. The purpose of the Faculty Fellowship Program is to promote diversity and community college career opportunities for people who are historically underrepresented in a program or discipline. Diversity for the purposes of this program include People of Color, gender diversity for non-traditional fields, and people with disabilities. The Faculty Fellowship Program will provide qualified applicants an opportunity to be employed at South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) as a full-time faculty member in their discipline for two years and an opportunity to learn the various departments and units of our community college; thus preparing them to compete for position openings in community and technical colleges specifically, and higher education more generally. This position is non-renewable after the two-year appointment.
