Family Support. Family Support services are primarily 8 community-based preventive activities designed to alleviate stress and promote 9 parental competencies and behaviors that will increase the ability of families 10 to successfully nurture their children; enable families to use other resources 11 and opportunities available in the community; and create supportive networks 12 to enhance child-rearing abilities of parents and help compensate for the 13 increased social isolation and vulnerability of families.

Family Support. Family Support (FS) services are 2 primarily community-based preventive activities designed to alleviate stress 3 and promote parental competencies and behaviors that will increase the ability 4 of families to successfully nurture their children; enable families to use 5 other resources and opportunities available in the community; and create 6 supportive networks to enhance child-rearing abilities of parents and help 7 compensate for the increased social isolation and vulnerability of families. 8 FS services should comprise approximately thirty-five (35) percent of the 9 budget for total services. Services must address a minimum of one (1) of the 10 PSSF outcomes for each contracted service (as specified in Subparagraph 2.2 11 below).

FaCT-funded services must address a 4 minimum of one (1) of the PSSF outcomes for each contracted service (as 5 specified in Subparagraph 2.2 below).

Birth families that choose to move their child from an institution to their home, or the home of a Support Family, may access Medicaid waiver services for their child, pending availability and eligibility. Xxxxxx care reimbursement may be available for support families caring for children in the conservatorship of DFPS. To achieve maximum integration and quality, it is generally preferable to limit the number of children with disabilities to a maximum of three per family-based alternative arrangement. Family support includes, but is not limited to: 1. Providing or ensuring the provision of ongoing training and monitoring, 2. Monitoring progress of the plan, 3. Service coordination, 4. Ensuring access to family support services, 5. Assistance with gaining appropriate educational services, 6. Ensuring access to respite, parent support groups, transition services, supports and other community supports.

Family Support. Family support includes educational, informational, and affiliational services for family members with relatives (as identified by the family) who are in recovery from Substance Use Disorders.
