FCC Study. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently conducted a study of several ISPs nationwide, not including GCI, to determine data speeds averaged over a period of several seconds, as well as average latency (the period of time required for data to travel from the customer equipment to the closest speed test server within the ISP’s network back). The results are consistent with, though not identical to, those experienced and expected for GCI’s cable-based services.
