Financial Hardships Clause Samples
Financial Hardships. Per Board Policy FP (LOCAL), if this fee creates a financial hardship on the student or parent from obtaining a device, please contact the campus administration about scholarship and payment options. Upon evidence of financial hardship, the administration may elect to offer a scholarship to be combined with a minimum fee paid by the parent or create a payment plan for the student to pay out the device use fee over time. Students will still be responsible for fees associated with unreported losses, deliberate damage or vandalism. Unpaid fees will put students on the Not-Clear list. Failure to comply with agreed upon timelines will result in termination of your rights of possession effective immediately and the District may repossess the property.
Financial Hardships. Upon determination of financial hardship, the administration may elect to create a payment plan for the student / parent to pay out fees over time. Students will have storage in their Google accounts via Google Classroom to store any assignments or data. Access to this is via their student login information. Students can save important items in this area which they can access from anywhere with an internet connection. Many classes will have online assignments posted in the Google Classroom, which can be accessed through any computer with internet access. Students should talk with their teachers about the availability of coursework and assignments with this tool. Regardless of the point of access, Google Classroom is monitored and controlled by the district. Students must carry their Chromebook/laptop/iPad inside the bag provided by the district and may not carry the Chromebook/laptop/iPad around outside of the bag. When carried in the bag, the Chromebook/laptop/iPad must be closed with the screen facing the keyboard so that the glass is protected. Students may not leave Chromebook/laptop/iPad in lockers or vehicles. Students may not ask teachers to keep Chromebook/laptop/iPad. Do not delete any system folders or files that you did not create or that you do not recognize. Deletion of certain files will result in device failure and will interfere with your ability to complete class work and may affect your grades. There is a $15 re-imaging charge. Re-imaging the Chromebook/laptop/iPad will result in the loss of ALL personal data. The Chromebook/laptop/iPad and bag have inventory stickers that must always remain attached. If the sticker is removed the student will be charged a $5.00 fee to have it replaced. If the sticker, through natural wear begins to peel or fade the district will replace the sticker at no cost if the student asks.

Financial Hardships. Based on TEC 11.158, the School District may require payment of a reasonable fee, not to exceed the actual annual maintenance cost for the use of technology equipment.
