Fire Chief’s Authority Sample Clauses

Fire Chief’s Authority. The Fire Chief shall have the authority to suspend, demote or dismiss (indefinitely suspend) a Fire Fighter for violations of civil service rules. The Fire Chief also retains his/her authority to take lesser corrective actions (e.g., reprimands, letters of counseling, performance improvement plans, etc.). Such lesser corrective actions are not considered “discipline” and are not subject to the disciplinary appeal process specified in this Article.
