Common use of For Your Protection – Notify Stifel Promptly Clause in Contracts

For Your Protection – Notify Stifel Promptly. a. You must tell Stifel AT ONCE if you believe your Card has been lost or stolen, or an unauthorized person may know your PIN or if you believe that an electronic fund transfer has been made without your permission using information from your check. Telephoning is the best way of keeping your possible losses down. You could lose all the funds in your Account (plus the maximum amount available through your margin account). If you tell Stifel within two Business Days after you learn of the loss or theft of a Card or PIN, you can lose no more than $50 if someone used your Card or PIN without your permission. TO PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT AND LIMIT YOUR LIABIL- ITY, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU: • DO NOT PROVIDE ANYONE WITH YOUR PIN; • DO NOT WRITE YOUR PIN ON THE CARD; • DO NOT CARRY YOUR PIN IN YOUR WALLET WITH THE CARD; AND • DO NOT TELL ANYONE YOUR PIN, NOT EVEN SOME- ONE FROM BNY MELLON, BANK OR STIFEL. b. If you do NOT tell Stifel within two Business Days after you learn of the loss or theft of your Card or PIN, and Stifel can prove it could have stopped someone from using your Card or PIN without your permission if you had told them, you could lose as much as $500.00. With respect to ACH Transactions, you will generally not be liable for Unauthor- ized Transactions unless you fail to notify us within the time period as described in the next paragraph. c. Tell Stifel AT ONCE if you believe your statement shows transfers that you did not make, including those made by card, code, or other means. You could lose all the money in your Account (plus the maximum amount available through your margin account). If you do not tell Stifel within 60 days after the statement was FIRST mailed to you, you may not get any money you lost after the 60 days if we can prove that we could have stopped someone from taking the money if you had told Stifel in time.
