Future Interim on Site Low-level Radioactive Waste Storage Facility (RS). The function of the Future Interim On Site Low-Level Radioactive Waste Storage Facility (RS) is to provide the capabilities for handling and storing for up to a maximum of five (5) years, solidified wastes and dry active wastes, prior to shipment off site. Wastes temporarily held in the RS will be ready for shipment off site without further processing. This facility consists of a non-seismic concrete building, a metal sided building, a truck bay and docking area, a control room, a container inspection and decontamination station, a truck washdown station, a remotely operated overhead crane, associated lighting, heating and ventilation systems, sumps, drains and related instrumentation and monitoring equipment and related access road and fencing.
