GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS TO THE INDEPENDENT INSTITUTION. Complete a Xxxxx University Undergraduate Application and submit an application fee. Submit official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions previously attended. The minimum cumulative GPA requirement for transfer applicants is 3.00. All transfer students with 60+ credits must choose a major. Applicants must have an overall GPA of 3.00 2.5 (grading based on a 4.0 scale). All prerequisite courses are semester hours or equivalents. In addition, the core science courses, including the lab component, courses require a grade of “B” or above with allowance for only 1 additional repeat of each core science course. Applicants are also required to submit three reference letters, a statement of purpose essay documenting how they discovered the field and why they have chosen it as a career letters as well as an additional letter documenting the observation of at least one cardiac surgical procedure requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. A personal interview will be required before acceptance into the program.
