Common use of GENERAL AND MISCELLANEOUS Clause in Contracts

GENERAL AND MISCELLANEOUS. A. If there should be any change during the life of this Agreement in Federal license requirements, Employees affected will be given a reasonable length of time, specified in such changed requirements, to obtain the license affected without change in pay status. B. If new equipment is put into service by the Company, all Employees affected shall be given reasonable opportunity to become familiar with the new equipment without change of classification or rate. C. The Company agrees to provide enclosed locked bulletin boards marked “I.A.M.” at all work locations where it is possible to do so, for the posting of Union notices of meetings and other business matters. Nothing of a derogatory or inflammatory nature may be posted. The Xxxxxxx shall be responsible for securing the bulletin board and ensuring that only appropriate I.A.M. meeting and business matters are posted. D. The Company will provide free parking at each work Maintenance Base for Employees. E. This Agreement may not be amended or supplemented except by a written Letter of Agreement signed by an officer of the Company, or his designee, on behalf of the Company and a General Chairperson on behalf of the IAM. F. The Company will continue to consider instances of loss by fire, act of God, theft, or damage (beyond normal wear and tear) of a Mechanics tool box and contents on a case by case basis, and where warranted, will make appropriate reimbursement to the Employee. G. No Employee under this Agreement will be required to enter an aircraft or other area where it is known that there may be an active threat. If the knowledge of such a threat is known by Company officials, the Employees will be informed immediately. However, an Employee may volunteer to perform these duties. H. No Employee will be required to participate in a maintenance test or ferry flight unless the aircraft has been properly released. I. The Company will provide death and disability benefits applicable if the Employee suffers work-related death or other disability as a result of an explosion or accident during a bomb scare or maintenance test or ferry flight, in accordance with applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Company group insurance programs. J. A Supervisor may assist the Employee in order to maintain a flight departure time. A Supervisor may also assist in troubleshooting problems or training of Employees. The Supervisor will coordinate such activities with the lead Mechanic on duty. Supervisors will not perform Employee’s work as covered by this Agreement to avoid payment of overtime or deny the Employee the right to perform his job. K. The Company and the Union will share equally the costs of printing this Agreement in sufficient quantities to provide each Employee covered hereunder with a copy. The Union may select the printer of its choice, provided, the costs are not out of line with generally prevailing rates. L. When the Company determines that more than one (1) Employee is to be provided with training, the opportunity for such training shall be offered in the order of Classification seniority (by Maintenance Base) among those Employees to be trained on the shift where the work is to be performed. M. The Employee and family members will continue to receive pass benefits in accordance with the then current pass policy and the same benefits as afforded to any other Employee. N. The Company will continue to provide lockers to Employees for placement of personal belongings in the following Classifications: Aircraft Mechanic/Avionics Technician, Inspector, Lead Mechanic, Aircraft Cleaner/Utility Person. O. A representative of the I.A.M.A.W. will be permitted to enter the facilities of the Company for a visit after notifying the Director of Maintenance or his designee. At no time will the visit disrupt the operation.

If the knowledge of such a threat is known by Company officials, the Employees will be informed immediately. However, an Employee may volunteer to perform these duties. H. No Employee will be required to participate in a maintenance test or ferry flight unless the aircraft has been properly released. I. The Company will provide death and disability benefits applicable if the Employee suffers work-related death or other disability as a result of an explosion or accident during a bomb scare or maintenance test or ferry flight, in accordance with applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Company group insurance programs. J. A Supervisor may assist the Employee in order to maintain a flight departure time. A Supervisor may also assist in troubleshooting problems or training of Employees. The Supervisor will coordinate such activities with the lead Mechanic on duty. Supervisors will not perform Employee’s work as covered by this Agreement to avoid payment of overtime or deny the Employee the right to perform their his job. K. When the Company determines that more than one (1) signed authorization form from an Employee is submitted to be provided with training, the opportunity for such training shall be offered participate in the order of Classification seniority (by Maintenance Base) among those Employees to be trained on the shift where the work is to be performed. M. The Employee and family members will continue to receive pass benefits in accordance with the then current pass policy and the same benefits as afforded to any other Employee. N. The Company will continue to provide lockers to Employees for placement of personal belongings in the following Classifications: Aircraft Mechanic/Avionics Technician, Inspector, Lead Mechanic, Aircraft Cleaner/Utility Person. O. A representative of the I.A.M.A.W. will be permitted to enter the facilities of the Company for a visit after notifying the Director of Maintenance or his designee. The Company will continue to consider instances of loss by fire, act of God, theft, or damage (beyond normal wear and tear) of a Mechanics tool box and contents on a case by case basis, and where warranted, will make appropriate reimbursement to the Employeedesignee. G. No Employee under During the term of this Agreement will be required to enter an aircraft or other area where it is known understood and agreed that there may be an active threat. If the knowledge of such a threat is known by Company officials, the Employees will be informed immediately. However, an Employee may volunteer to perform these duties. H. No Employee will be required to participate in a maintenance test or ferry flight unless the aircraft has been properly released. I. The Company will provide death and disability benefits applicable if the Employee suffers work-related death or other disability as a result of an explosion or accident during a bomb scare or maintenance test or ferry flightnot lock out any employee covered hereby, in accordance with applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Company group insurance programs. The Company and the Union will share equally not authorize or take part in any strike or picketing of Company premises. H. If any employee requests to leave work for personal reasons, he must receive permission from the costs responsible supervisor. I. Should an employee sustain an injury or become ill while on the job, he will report immediately, if possible, to his manager or ranking supervisor on duty. J. Each employee is required to keep the Company advised of printing his current address and telephone number. Should an employee change his address or telephone number, he must notify the manager immediately. A change of address form is available for this Agreement purpose. K. Employees will be granted four (4) days off with pay for a death in sufficient quantities the immediate family for the following: mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, eligible committed partner (as defined and recognized by the Benefits Department), children (including stepchildren and children of an eligible committed partner), and step-parents. Employees will be given three (3) days off with pay for the death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, parent of an eligible committed partner, grandparents, and grandchildren. If additional days are required, the employee may elect to provide each Employee covered hereunder with a copyuse accrued vacation. If the employee has no accrued vacation in his bank, in the event of death of the employee’s spouse, committed or registered partner, child, mother, or father, the employee may use up to four (4) accrued sick days as additional leave. The Union may select use of accrued sick leave must be in compliance with Article 13, paragraph 1(C) (first sick day compensation shall not be paid unless the printer employee has nine (9) days or more of its choiceaccrued sick pay to his credit). If the accrued sick days are utilized for this purpose, provided, it shall not constitute a chargeable occurrence under the costs are not out of line with generally prevailing ratesattendance program. L. When The use of the Company determines that more than one (1) Employee is to be provided with training, the opportunity for such training term “days” in establishing time limits in this agreement shall be offered in the order of Classification seniority (by Maintenance Base) among those Employees to be trained on the shift where the work is to be performedmean calendar days unless otherwise stated. M. The Employee and family members Upon successful completion of a Customer Representative’s probationary period, the Company will reimburse the employee for the cost of their headset. This provision applies to employees hired after (“DOR”). N. Employees accepting full-time employment with the Union shall be released from operational duty for the period so employed by the Union. Employees so affected shall continue to receive accrue seniority in their last classification prior to the change and will remain eligible for pass benefits privileges in accordance with the then current pass Company's policy and so long as this Union remains the same benefits as afforded to any other Employeeexclusive bargaining agent for employees covered by this Agreement. N. O. Current supplemental insurance programs shall be available for employees to purchase at their own expense through payroll deductions. These programs are strictly voluntary and furnished through an underwriter and administrator selected by the Union. The Company will continue to shall provide lockers to Employees reasonable accommodations for placement of personal belongings in the following Classifications: Aircraft Mechanic/Avionics Technician, Inspector, Lead Mechanic, Aircraft Cleaner/Utility Person. O. A representative of the I.A.M.A.W. will be permitted to enter the facilities of the Company for work site enrollment during a visit after notifying the Director of Maintenance or his designee. At no time will the visit disrupt the operationdesignated enrollment period.

GENERAL AND MISCELLANEOUS. A. Any qual ified employee, upon request, will be furnished with a certificate of eligibility by the Company for presentation to the proper government agency for procuring FAA or FCC license. B. It is the policy of Signature Flight Support that only designated persons are allowed to release the following reference information on former employees: starting and ending date of employment, job title and job description. "Reason for leaving" is not revealable information unless required by applicable law. The Company, if provided with written authorization by the employee, will release payroll records for mortgage and loan applications. C. If new equipment is put into service by the Company, all Employees affected employees shall be given reasonable opportunity to become familiar with the new equipment without change of in classification or rate. C. D. All notices to an employee under this Agreement, involving a change in assignment, promotion, demotion, furlough, leave of absence, schedule change, discharge or disciplinary action shall be given in writing, a copy of which shall be given to the Local Union Xxxxxxx. E. Non-bargaining unit employees including supervisory employees not covered by this Agreement, shall not perform bargaining unit work, which will result in a covered employee losing regular or overtime pay, except when training or instructing covered employees, or in case of an emergency. It is agreed that the protection of Company and customer property against the elements may be considered an emergency. F. A locked bulletin board will be provided by the Company at a location mutually agreed upon, marked "International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers", for posting of notices. G. The Company agrees to provide enclosed locked bulletin boards marked “I.A.M.” at all work locations where it is possible to do so, for the posting will furnish each employee a copy of Union notices of meetings and other business matters. In the event of the death of a brother-in-law or sister-in-law, a covered employee will be allowed one (1) day absence from work without loss of straight time pay for the purpose of attending the funeral. Satisfactory proof of eligibility for time off will be furnished upon request by the Company. J. Letters of warning and notices of discipline shall remain active in the employee’s file for a period of twelve (12) months from date of issuance except for incidents of gross misconduct . Thereafter such notices will not be amended considered valid for any progressive discipline. K. In the event a covered employee is called for Jury Service, he will be paid the difference between his straight time earnings at the time he was called and the amoun t he receives for such service for each day he is absent from work as a result of his call up to a maximum of five (5) days, forty (40) hours in any calendar week. When an employee is required by the Company or supplemented except by a written Letter one of Agreement signed by an officer its agents to appear in any court for the purpose of testifying on behalf of the Company, or the employee shall suffer no los s in pay for up to eight (8) hours at his designee, straight time base rate if such court appearance conflicts with and prevents him from working on behalf of the Company and a General Chairperson on behalf of the IAM. F. The Company will continue to consider instances of loss by fire, act of God, theft, or damage (beyond normal wear and tear) of a Mechanics tool box and contents on a case by case basis, and where warranted, will make appropriate reimbursement to the Employee. G. No Employee under this Agreement will be required to enter an aircraft or other area where it is known that there may be an active threathis normally scheduled shift. If the knowledge employee is summoned or subpoenaed to court by other parties or for the purpose of testifying in his own behalf, no such compensation will be paid. Payment by the Company shall be conditioned upon the employee providing a threat certified court document setting forth dates of service as a juror. L. Except in servicing of flights, no work shall be performed out of doors during inclement weather where shelter is known by reasonably available. M. Employees assigned to perform work at locations away from Midway Airport where no hangar is available will be paid a premium of thirty-five cents ($.35) per hour for all hours spent on such assignment. N. As long as the Company officialshas control of the present parking facility adjacent to the hangar, the Employees will be informed immediately. However, an Employee may volunteer to perform these duties. H. No Employee will be required to participate in a maintenance test or ferry flight unless the aircraft has been properly released. I. The Company will provide death and disability benefits applicable if parking for the Employee suffers work-related death or other disability employees at no cost. O. The Union Xxxxxxx plus one (1) representative of the union shall not suffer any loss of pay for straight time hours of working opportunity lost, subject to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day, as a result of an explosion or accident during a bomb scare or maintenance test or ferry flight, hours spent in accordance with applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Company group insurance programs. J. A Supervisor may assist the Employee in order to maintain a flight departure time. A Supervisor may also assist in troubleshooting problems or training of Employees. The Supervisor will coordinate such activities contract negotiations with the lead Mechanic on duty. Supervisors will not perform Employee’s work as covered by this Agreement to avoid payment of overtime or deny the Employee the right to perform his jobCompany. K. The Company and the Union will share equally the costs of printing this Agreement in sufficient quantities to provide each Employee covered hereunder with a copy. The Union may select the printer of its choice, provided, the costs are not out of line with generally prevailing rates. L. When the Company determines that more than one (1) Employee is to be provided with training, the opportunity for such training shall be offered in the order of Classification seniority (by Maintenance Base) among those Employees to be trained on the shift where the work is to be performed. G. No Employee under this Agreement will be required to enter an aircraft or other area where it is known that there may be an active threat. If the knowledge of such a threat is known by Company officials, the Employees will be informed immediately. However, an Employee may volunteer to perform these duties. H. No Employee will be required to participate in a maintenance test or ferry flight unless the aircraft has been properly released. I. At no time will the visit disrupt the operation.

GENERAL AND MISCELLANEOUS. A. If there Service records shall be maintained for all employees by the Company and upon resignation or discharge from the service, the employee upon request, will be furnished with a copy of same. In discharge cases the employee and his Union Representative will have access to the service records applicable to the case prior to the holding of any investigation. In cases where it is necessary that an employee should be any change during warned due to the life caliber of this Agreement his work and/or the general performance of his duties, such warning will be made to the employee in Federal license requirements, Employees affected writing with a copy of the Local Chairman and the employee will be given a reasonable length of time, specified in such changed requirements, time to obtain correct the license affected without change in pay statusmatter. Employees losing such garments shall be amended or supplemented except by a written Letter of Agreement signed by required to replace same at their own expense. The Company will continue to consider instances of loss by fire, act of God, theft, or damage (beyond normal wear and tear) of a Mechanics tool box and contents on a case by case basis, and where warranted, will make appropriate reimbursement to the Employee. G. No Employee under this Agreement will be required to enter an aircraft or other area where it is known that there may be an active threat. If the knowledge of such a threat is known by Company officials, the Employees will be informed immediately. However, an Employee may volunteer to perform these duties. H. No Employee will be required to participate in a maintenance test or ferry flight unless the aircraft has been properly released. I. The Company will shall provide death and disability benefits applicable if the Employee suffers work-related death or other disability as a result of an explosion or accident during a bomb scare or maintenance test or ferry flight, in accordance with applicable Workers’ Compensation laws and Company group insurance programs. J. A Supervisor may assist the Employee in order to maintain a flight departure time. A Supervisor may also assist in troubleshooting problems or training of Employees. The Supervisor will coordinate such activities with the lead Mechanic on duty. Supervisors will not perform Employee’s work as each employee covered by this Agreement to avoid payment with a copy of overtime or deny the Employee the right to perform his jobAgreement in booklet form. K. The Company and G. O. A representative of the I.A.M.A.W. duty will be permitted in designated areas, provided an employee shall not leave the job to enter indulge in such smoking and refreshments without permission. J. In the interest of training Agents in all other phases of work, Supervisors may rotate work assignment on a daily basis; however, this authority shall not be used for purposes of discrimination. M. Employees are expected to be well groomed and present a neat and businesslike appearance at all times while on duty. Employees not reporting to work in uniform may be subject to Progressive Discipline. N. It is forbidden for any employee to engage in drinking alcoholic beverages while in uniform or when on duty or to come to work under the influence of alcohol. This prohibition also applies to narcotics, un-prescribed, and illegal drugs. O. All employees must be approved and stay bondable as a condition of continued employment. P. The Company will notify District #142 of any new hired employee(s) that will be covered by this Agreement as soon as practical. The Company shall provide District #142 with a corrected Seniority List once a year. Q. Negotiating Committee: The two (2) employees on the Union’s Committee shall be compensated for rostered times on days on which negotiations are scheduled. Negotiating Committee: The two (2) employees on the Union’s Committee shall be compensated for time lost on days on which negotiations are scheduled even if direct negotiations do not occur, provided that the employees actually participate in meetings with the Union for purposes of collective bargaining. The committee representing the Union for purpose of negotiating any modification or amendments proposed to this Agreement shall not exceed four (4) in numbers, of whom two (2) shall be Employees of the Company Company. Either party may bring to such negotiation meetings a specialist regarding technical or special items being considered or any other designated representative. Employees called into negotiations on a day off shall be given back the time lost from the day off. Employees called into negotiations while working, shall not lose pay while participating in such negotiations. R. Effective upon the signing of this Agreement, employees who are late for work three (3) times in a visit after notifying rolling ninety (90) day period, will receive an oral warning (a notation of which shall be placed in the Director employee’s file); an employee who is late for work an additional three (3) times in a rolling ninety (90) day period will receive a written warning; an employee late for work an additional three (3) times in a rolling ninety (90) day period shall be suspended without pay for one day. If the employee, upon receiving and warning for attendance, completes a ninety (90) day rolling period with no additional late for work instances, then the warnings shall be removed from their file and not be used for the basis of Maintenance or his designee. At no time will the visit disrupt the operationany further discipline.

GENERAL AND MISCELLANEOUS. A. If Should there should be any change during the life of this Agreement in Federal license requirements, Employees all employees affected will shall be given a reasonable the length of time, specified in such changed requirements, time required by the governmental body demanding the license to obtain the such license affected without change in pay statusstatus or pay. Any qualified employee, upon request, shall be furnished with a certificate of eligibility by the Company for presentation to the proper government agency for procuring FAA or FCC license. B. Any employee leaving the service of the Company will, upon request to the Company, be furnished with a letter setting forth the individual's qualifications (date of hire, classification, length of service, and rate of pay) Signature Flight Support's policy is that all requests for employment verifications of both current and former employees must be directed to the company's authorized third party vendor, or a designated individual within the organization. Reference information on former employees will only include starting and ending dates of employment, and job title. "Reason for leaving" is not revealable information unless required by applicable law. C. If new equipment is put into service by the Company, all Employees affected employees shall be given reasonable every opportunity to become familiar with the new equipment without change of classification or rate. C. D. Except in the servicing of flights, no work by a GSE Maintenance employee shall be performed out of doors during inclement weather when shelter is reasonably available. E. All orders or notices to an employee under this Agreement involving a change in assignment, promotion, demotion, furlough and leave of absence, schedule changes, discharge or disciplinary action, shall be given in writing, a copy of which shall be given to the Local Committee Chairman. F. Non-bargaining unit employees, including supervisory employees, not covered by this Agreement, shall not perform bargaining unit work which will result in a covered employee losing regular or overtime pay, except when training or instructing covered employees, or in case of an emergency. It is agreed that the protection of Company and customer property against the elements may be considered an emergency. G. Locked bulletin boards will be provided by the Company at locations mutually agreed upon, marked "International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers," for posting of notices. H. New employees shall be introduced to the Shop Xxxxxxx on the first day of work. I. Each employee covered by this Agreement will be furnished with a copy of this Agreement J. In the event of a death in his immediate family (parents, sister, brother, spouse, child, mother-in- law, father-in-law and grandparents) a covered employee will be allowed up to four (4) days absence from work without loss of straight time pay. In the event of a death of a brother-in-law or sister-in-law the employee will be allowed one (1) day absence from work without loss of straight time pay for the purpose of attending the funeral. Satisfactory proof of eligibility for time off will be furnished upon request by the Company. Additional necessary time off without pay may be granted by request of the employee. Such permission will not be unreasonably withheld, but in no event shall a request for this purpose exceed an additional five (5) working days. •Reasonable advance notice of such absences must be given, and satisfactory confirmation provided when requested by the Employer. K. In the event a covered employee is called for and serves as a juror, he will be paid the difference between his straight time earnings at the time he was called and the amount he receives for such service for each day he is absent from work as a result of his call, up to a maximum of five (5) days (40 hours), in any calendar week. Payment by the Company shall be conditioned upon the employee providing a certified court document setting forth the dates of service as a juror. L. Except in situations involving harassment, employees who do not receive a disciplinary warning for twelve (12) months from the date of their last disciplinary offense, shall not have prior discipline considered should they commit any other disciplinary offense. M. The Company agrees to will provide enclosed locked bulletin boards marked “I.A.M.” at all work locations where it is possible to do so, parking for the posting employees at no cost to the employee during the term of this Agreement. N. Employee members of the Union notices negotiating committee, up to a maximum of meetings two (2), shall be reimbursed for straight time hours of working opportunity lost as a result of attending contract negotiating sessions with the Company. O. Each employee shall be responsible to maintain his assigned vehicle and other business matters. Nothing of a derogatory or inflammatory nature may be posted.
