General Contractor Selection Process. Program Manager and the Designated Architect will solicit bids from general contractors based on the CDs. Program Manager and the Designated Architect will conduct an on-site pre-bid meeting with all general contractors bidding. Program Manager will solicit, where possible, at least 3 bids from general contractors. Company may request that general contractors of Company's choosing are permitted to bid. Program Manager will choose a general contractor in Program Manager's reasonable discretion based on a variety of factors including cost, thoroughness and accuracy of the bid, track record of the general contractor in the local area, Program Manager's experience with the general contractor in relevant commercial construction, the general contractor's understanding of MEF system requirements, financial stability of the contractor, the quality of the general contractor's work and references, and the contents of the bid packages. The general contractor that is awarded the work will be the “Approved General Contractor". Program Manager's services in relation to the selection of the Approved General Contractor are included in the Program Management Fee. The Designated Architect's services in relation to selection of the Approved General Contractor are included in the Architecture Contract.
