General Provisions and Periodic Absences. In the event of periodic personal illnesses or injuries that are anticipated to cause an absence from work of less than 10 working days, an employee is required to notify her supervisor or designate by telephone before the beginning of the work day or as soon as possible thereafter. The employee shall inform her supervisor or designate of the expected date of her return to work, and must provide a phone number where she may be reached in her absence. Should the employee’s condition change during the absence such that there is a change to her expected date of return, she must notify her supervisor or designate as soon as such anticipated change is known to her.
