General Retirement Guidelines. A. In order to be eligible for retirement, the teacher must be under contract or on an approved leave with Perry Township Schools at the time of retirement. B. Retirement may begin either at the beginning of a school year or at the beginning of the second semester. The Board may waive this stipulation. In the year of retirement, the teacher must be at least fifty-five (55) years of age before the beginning of the next school year.
