GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS RELATING TO PERFORMANCE OF THE CONTRACT. 1. Unless specifically provided otherwise, the time limits for performance laid down in the contract, the specific contracts or the order forms shall run from the date on which they enter into force. They shall be extended in cases of force majeure. In such cases the parties shall agree new time limits in writing. 2. The Contractor shall perform the contract in good faith and to the highest professional standards. The Contractor shall have sole responsibility for complying with any legal obligations incumbent on him, notably those resulting from employment, tax, social and environmental protection legislation. 3. The Contractor shall have sole responsibility for taking the necessary steps to obtain any permit or licence required for performance of the contract under the laws and regulations in force at the place where the tasks assigned to him are to be carried out. The European Parliament may terminate the contract without notice if the Contractor is unable, through his own fault, to obtain any of the permits or licences required for performance of the contract.
