Good governance. 1. The Parties reaffirm that good governance rests on transparent, responsible, accountable and participatory governments, and appropriate oversight mechanisms. The Parties agree that good governance is critical to the respect of all human rights, democratic principles and the rule of law. They commit to universal access to public services without any discrimination. They further commit to transparency and accountability as integral elements of good governance and institution building. 2. The Parties commit to the transparent and accountable management of human, natural, economic and financial resources for the purposes of equitable benefit sharing and sustainable development. 3. The Parties commit to the creation of an enabling environment for transparency and accountability to thrive in public administration, including enhancing integrity and independence of governance institutions. The Parties shall develop and implement sound public finance management systems compatible with the fundamental principles of effectiveness, transparency and accountability, with a view to protecting public finances and improving the delivery of public services by eliminating administrative bottlenecks and tackling regulatory deficiencies. 4. The Parties shall ensure transparency and accountability in public funding, including financial assistance, and in the delivery of public services. They shall improve revenue collection and tackle tax evasion and avoidance and illicit financial flows. They agree to cooperate in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing and engage in timely partnership dialogue at bilateral and international levels on matters related to anti-money laundering and terrorism financing. 5. The Parties shall combat corruption at all levels and in all its forms, developing and implementing or maintaining effective, coordinated anti-corruption policies that reflect the principles of the rule of law, proper management of public affairs and public property, integrity, transparency and accountability. They shall adopt legislative and other measures to prevent and prosecute bribery and embezzlement, misappropriation or other diversion of resources by public officials for their direct or indirect benefit, and to recover and return assets obtained through corruption. 6. Good governance. 1. The Parties agree that cooperation in the field of good governance shall be based on strict respect for the principles of the UN Charter and international law. 2. Such cooperation activities may include, inter alia, activities, mutually agreed upon by the Parties, with the aim of: (a) respecting the rule of law; (b) promoting transparent, responsible, efficient, stable and democratic institutions; (c) exchanging experiences and building capacity with regard to legal matters and judicial capacity; (d) exchanging information concerning legal systems and legislation; (e) promoting exchanges of best practices concerning good governance, accountability and transparent management at all levels; (f) working jointly for more inclusive political processes that allow for genuine participation by all citizens.
Good governance. Neither the CONSULTANT nor its employees, agents or Subcontractors, or their employees or agents, shall make any payment or give anything of value to any official of any government or public international organization (including any officer or employee of any government department, agency or instrumentality) to influence his/her or its decision, or to gain any other advantage for the COMPANY or the CONSULTANT in connection with the Services performed hereunder. The CONSULTANT shall immediately notify the COMPANY in writing of any violation of this clause. In the event of any violation of this clause, the COMPANY may, at its sole option, terminate this Agreement at any time and notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, and pay no compensation or reimbursement to the CONSULTANT for any Services performed after the date of such violation.
Good governance. The Independent Commission for Good Governance in Public Services published its report in 2006. This Report set out six core principles of good governance, each with its own supporting principles. Good governance ensures that organisations and partnerships, whether statutory or voluntary, are fit for purpose, are well led and managed, take appropriate risks and are sustainable operationally, learning from experience and through systematic review and assurance. Those organisations and partnerships subscribing to the standard are encouraged to test, each year, how far they live up to the Standard and to consider and develop action plans for making any desired improvements. Under the Standard, good governance means Sunderland Safeguarding Adults Board will: • Focus on the Board’s purpose and on outcomes for adults at risk of abuse, citizens and service users • Perform effectively in clearly defined functions and roles • Promote safeguarding principles and demonstrate the values of good governance through behaviour • Take informed, transparent decisions and manage risk • Develop the capacity and capability of the governing body to be effective • Engage with stakeholders and make accountability real The Xxxxx Committee on Standards in Public Life (1996) identified seven principles to guide those in public positions. They were:

The Parties shall support the use of digital technologies and accelerate the deployment of user-friendly and simplified e- governance solutions as a means to enhance access to and the availability of public information and services, and to improve transparency and accountability, while preventing abuse and promoting and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Good governance. The Borrower and Balochistan acknowledge that ADB, consistent with its commitment to good governance, accountability and transparency, reserves the right to undertake, directly or through its agents, investigation of any public impropriety in the implementation of the Program.
