Common use of Grant of Patent License Clause in Contracts

Grant of Patent License. You hereby grant to the Organization and to recipients of software distributed by the Organization a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable, sublicensable, and transferable license under any rights you may have, now or in the future, in any patents or patent applications to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, and import products containing the Contribution or portions of the Contribution. This license extends to patent claims that are infringed by the Contribution alone or by combination of the Contribution with other inventions.

This Work, where such license extends applies only to those patent claims licensable by You that are nec- essarily infringed by the Contribution Your Contribution(s) alone or by combination of Your Contribution(s) with the Contribution with other inventionsWork to which such Contribution(s) was submitted.
