GUARANTEED WORK DAY Sample Clauses

The Guaranteed Work Day clause establishes a minimum number of paid work hours that an employee will receive for each day they report to work, regardless of whether there is sufficient work available. For example, if an employee is scheduled and arrives for a shift but is sent home early due to lack of work, they are still compensated for the guaranteed minimum hours, such as four or eight hours. This clause provides income stability for employees and protects them from unpredictable reductions in daily earnings due to factors outside their control.
GUARANTEED WORK DAY. If a full-time employee who has two (2) years' service with the Company reports for work without having been notified previously not to report for work, he will be given four (4) hours of work at his straight-time hourly rate, unless failure to supply work is due to weather conditions or labour disputes. Any full-time employee so affected shall take such temporary work as may be available in order to qualify for said four (4) hours of pay.

If none of the school buildings within ISD 721 are in session and any driver performs regular route driving work on that day, that driver shall be compensated according to that driver’s usual expected daily time for that day. Drivers being paid for time they aren’t driving must report to the bus garage for alternate duty. If the employee chooses not to perform alternate duties, the employee will not be compensated for that time. If no alternate work is available, the employee will be paid.
