Guiding Principles Objective. The objective of this Agreement is to establish a European Works Council (“EWC”) for the purpose of informing and consulting Telefónica’s employees in Europe within the geographical scope of this Agreement and to promote a dialogue and an exchange of views on transnational issues. Communication This process at European level should support and enhance existing communication processes, information and consultation processes within Telefónica’s employees in Europe. Spirit Central Management as well as employee representatives shall participate in a spirit of co-operation consistent with Telefónica’s current values of Deliver, Disrupt and Discover. Legislation Directive 2009/38/EC is the adopted European Directive in force. The UK implementing legislation (Transnational Information and Consultation of Employees (Amendment) Regulations 2010 (“the EWC Regulations”)) shall govern this Agreement.
