Common use of Health Care Insurance Continuation Clause in Contracts

Health Care Insurance Continuation. Ixia (at its expense) will continue, for a period of 18 months following the Termination Date, health care coverage for Former Employee and his family members who are “qualified beneficiaries” (as such term is defined in the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (“COBRA”)) under Ixia’s group health plan(s) generally available during such period to employees participating in such plan(s) and at levels and with coverage no greater than those provided to such Former Employee as of the Termination Date. Thereafter, Former Employee (at his expense) may elect coverage under a conversion health plan available under Ixia’s group health plan(s) from Ixia’s health insurance carrier if and to the extent he is entitled to do so as a matter of right under federal or state law.
