Hydrostatic pressure burst test. (a) The rate of pressurisation shall not exceed 1.4 MPa per second (200 psi/second) at pressures in excess of 80 per cent of the design burst pressure. If the rate of pressurisation at pressures in excess of 80 per cent of the design burst pressure exceeds 350 kPa/second (50 psi/second), then either the cylinder must be placed schematically between the pressure source and the pressure measurement device, or there must be a 5 second hold at the minimum design burst pressure;
