Common use of Indemnification by Government in Lieu of Insurance Clause in Contracts

Indemnification by Government in Lieu of Insurance. Notwithstanding any provisions of this Section 11 requiring insurance, Lessor agrees to accept, in lieu of insurance against any risk with respect to the Aircraft, indemnification from, or insurance provided by, the United States Government or any agency or instrumentality thereof or, upon the written consent of Lessor, other government of registry of the Aircraft or any agency or instrumentality thereof, against such risk in an amount which, when added to the amount of insurance against such risk maintained by Lessee (or any Sublessee) with respect to the Aircraft (including permitted self-insurance) shall be at least equal to the amount of insurance against such risk otherwise required by this Section 11.
