Common use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT Clause in Contracts

Information and Communications Technology (ICT. 1. The Parties recognise the importance of cooperation in the development of ICT as a key sector in the modern society to xxxxxx competitiveness and innovation, as well as for the smooth transition towards the information society. The objective in this area is to develop the ICT sector and promote its contribution to other socio-economic sectors. 2 Subject to the provisions of Article 35, the Parties agree to cooperate, including by facilitating support, in the following areas: (a) facilitate connectivity at the national, regional and global levels; (b) disseminate new information and communication technologies; (c) support the development of the legal and regulatory frameworks on ICT; (d) technology development, transfer and applications, R&D, innovation, information exchange and networks, and marketing; (e) capacity building in human resources, improvement in service standards, and institutional structures; (f) encourage and facilitate UK-ESA partnerships, linkages and joint ventures between economic operators; (g) promote and support the development of niche markets for ICT-enabled services.
