Informing Contractors. To ensure that contractors work safely at our facility, it is the contractors contact persons responsibility to ensure that the contractor is aware of the hazardous operations and substances that they will be working around or with. Contractors shall be provided with the following information:
1. Hazardous substances to which they may be exposed to
2. Precautions that the employees may take to lessen the possibility of exposure to hazardous substances.
3. The location/availability of our Hazard Communications Program
4. The name/availability of our HazCom Program Manager
5. Injury & Illness Prevention Program Under federal law this company is required to have an Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). The IIPP is written program for identifying, evaluating, and preventing occupational injury & illness. There are four main aspects to this program:
1. Investigation of all accidents, injuries, and illness on the job site.
2. Documentation and reporting of these injuries and illnesses. Cal/OSHA form 200 "Log of Occupational Injuries and Illness
3. Periodic inspections of the workplace and workstations
4. A system to allow for employee feedback and hazard identification
5. Employee training - General safety, IIPP, etc.
