Insulation thickness measurement. The measurement of the insulation thickness shall be determined from a representative sample of the cable not more than 150mm in length taken no less than 300 mm from the end of each factory length. Measurements shall be made by an optical method in which the error of determination does not exceed 0.025 mm. The measurements shall be made at six approximately equally spaced points round the periphery of the sample and care shall be taken to ensure that the minimum thickness is measured the average value stated in the schedule of particulars and guarantees.
