Common use of Interpretation; Severability Clause in Contracts

Interpretation; Severability. The Parties may use the captions in this Agreement only for convenience and not for interpreting this Agreement. If any portion of this Agreement is held illegal, invalid or inoperative by a court of competent jurisdiction, then so far as is reasonable and possible (1) the remainder of this Agreement is valid and operative; and (2) to the extent legally possible, the Parties shall give effect to the intent manifested by the portion that is held invalid or inoperative.
