Interviewing and selection of applicants for a place on a primary course Headteachers in the partnership (and, where appropriate, their school-based mentors and teachers with overall responsibility for ITT) are encouraged to participate in jointly interviewing candidates for a place on a primary programme at least once per year and, where necessary, it is hoped that they will be released by their school in order to do so. All applicants are required to spend a minimum stipulated amount of time in a primary school prior to being accepted on to the course. Where enquiries are made by candidates living locally to the University about this entry requirement they will be referred to partnership schools which they can contact in order to arrange/gain this experience.
