Isolation Requirements Clause Samples
The Isolation Requirements clause sets out the standards and procedures for keeping certain individuals, materials, or processes separate to prevent contamination, interference, or unauthorized access. In practice, this may involve physical barriers, restricted access zones, or specific handling protocols, depending on the context—such as isolating hazardous substances in a laboratory or segregating sensitive data in an IT environment. The core function of this clause is to ensure safety, maintain integrity, and comply with regulatory or operational standards by minimizing risks associated with unwanted interactions or exposures.
Isolation Requirements. The piping system shall be designed by the Owner’s Engineer to be appropriately isolated for maintenance from all sources of energy such as the main geofluid line and the well. Acceptable isolation methods are double block and bleed or an isolation valve with a dropout spool. Drop out spools must be accessible from ground level or a working platform.
Isolation Requirements. The Interconnection Customer shall not energize any of the Utility’s system line or equipment unless the Utility’s System Control Center (SCC) specifically approves energization. If, for any reason, a protective device operation separates the Generating Facility from the Utility’s system, the Interconnection Customer shall contact the SCC before attempting to restore the connection to the system. Automatic re-closing is not allowed. At the Connection Point, a disconnect switch shall be provided for the purpose of physically and visibly isolating the Generating Facility from the Utility’s System. With the agreement between the Utility and the Interconnection Customer, the disconnect switch may be installed at another location other than the Connection Point, provided that the purpose described herein is satisfied. 2.4.3.1 Shall be accessible by, and under the Utility’s SCC jurisdiction & control.
2.4.3.2 Shall be gang-operated, and shall be lockable in the open position by the Utility.
2.4.3.3 Shall be suitable for safe operation under the conditions of use.
2.4.3.4 Shall not be operated without advance notice to either party, unless an emergency condition requires that the device be opened to isolate the Generating Facility.
