Jurisdiction and Venue of Disputes. a. A provision in a franchise agreement restricting jurisdiction to a forum outside this state is void with respect to a claim otherwise enforceable under this section. b. A civil action or proceeding arising out of a franchise may be commenced wherever jurisdiction over the parties or subject matter exists, even if the agreement limits actions or proceedings to a designated jurisdiction. c. Venue for a civil action commenced under this chapter shall be determined in accordance with chapter 616.
