Common use of Landlord’s Right of Cancellation Clause in Contracts

Landlord’s Right of Cancellation. Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, should Tenant desire to assign the Lease or sublease the Premises, Landlord shall have the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or terminate the Lease and deal with Tenant’s prospective assignee or sublessee directly and without any obligation to Tenant. In this event, Tenant’s obligations to Landlord under this Lease shall terminate.
