If the designated contract market chooses to allow trading to occur through the determination of the final settlement price, then the designated contract market should show that futures trading would not distort the final settlement price calculation. The last trading day is the maturity date of the contract, in the case of credit default swaps, or its expiration date, in the case of swaptions, which is set by the counterparties.
