Legal References. Unless otherwise indicated, the terms used in this Agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 4117 of the Ohio Revised Code. Where this Agreement makes no specification about a matter the Sheriff, bargaining unit members and the Union are subject to all applicable federal and state laws pertaining to the wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for bargaining unit members. Laws pertaining to civil rights, affirmative action, unemployment compensation, workers' compensation, and retirement of the bargaining unit members are not superseded by this Agreement. The conduct and grading of examinations, the rating of candidates, and the establishment of eligible lists from examinations are not subjects of bargaining under this Agreement.
