Liability Insurance and Employee Protection. 6.18.1 The District shall provide comprehensive liability insurance that will hold harmless and defend, as agents of the District, each Employee of the District from claims for damages caused or alleged to have been caused in whole or in part by the Employee while performing their duties in the District. An Employee may, at all times, use such force as is necessary to protect themself, another Employee, or a student from attack, physical abuse or injury. Provided that the District’s insurer and/or the District shall not be obligated to assume any costs or judgments held against the Employee when such damages are proved to be due to the Employee’s willful negligence or criminal act as determined by a court of law.
