Common use of Liability of State Clause in Contracts

Liability of State. (1) The State has no obligation to provide legal counsel or legal defense to the Contractor or its sub-contractors in the event that a suit, claim or action of any character is brought by any person or persons not party to the contract against the Contractor or its sub-contractors as a result of or relating to the Contractor's obligations under this contract. (2) The State has no obligation for the payment of any judgments or the settlement of any claims made against the Contractor or its sub-contractors as a result of or relating to the Contractor's obligations under this contract.
