Limited Term to Offer and Sell Contracts. The General Agent shall be authorized to offer and sell Contracts to the general public pursuant to this Agreement for a period of one year from the Effective Date, and, unless terminated earlier pursuant to Sections 8.3, 8.4 or 8.5, such authorization shall automatically continue for one-year periods thereafter; provided, however, that such authorization shall automatically terminate upon termination of any distribution agreement between the Distributor and an Equitable Company relating to the Contracts.
