LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE ASSIGNMENTS. 4 Once a substitute is in a long-term assignment, that position is considered filled 5 until the assignment expires, or the substitute can no longer perform the duties as 6 assigned. The District shall comply with applicable laws as it relates to long-term 7 substitutes. 8 The rates of pay for permanent classified employees who voluntarily perform 9 services in additional assignments and work outside of their respective classifications 10 for short periods of time or on a day-to-day basis shall be established as provided for 11 below:
