Loss of Independent Existence. A condition as a result of a disease, illness or injury whereby the life insured is unable to perform (whether aided or unaided) at least 3 of the following 6 "Activities of Daily Living", for a continuous period of 6 months. This condition must be confirmed by the company's approved doctor. Non-organic diseases such as neurosis and psychiatric illnesses are excluded. For the purpose of this definition, “aided” shall mean with the aid of special equipment, device and/or apparatus and not pertaining to human aid.
