MAINTENANCE DRUG Clause Samples

The "Maintenance Drug" clause defines what constitutes a maintenance drug within the context of a contract, typically referring to medications prescribed for long-term, ongoing treatment of chronic conditions. This clause often specifies criteria such as the duration of use, the types of conditions covered (like diabetes or hypertension), and may outline requirements for prescription refills or mail-order pharmacy use. Its core function is to clearly delineate which drugs are subject to special handling or benefits, ensuring both parties understand coverage terms and reducing disputes over medication eligibility.
