Maintenance of Ratings; Rating Agency Information Clause Samples

The "Maintenance of Ratings; Rating Agency Information" clause requires a party, typically a borrower or issuer, to take necessary actions to maintain credit ratings from specified rating agencies and to provide those agencies with relevant information as needed. In practice, this may involve supplying financial statements, business updates, or other disclosures to ensure the rating agencies have sufficient data to assess the creditworthiness of the entity or its obligations. The core function of this clause is to help preserve the credit rating of the entity or its securities, which can affect borrowing costs and investor confidence, and to ensure transparency and ongoing communication with rating agencies.
