Common use of Mandated Sub-tier Suppliers Clause in Contracts

Mandated Sub-tier Suppliers. “Special Process” means a process that is specifically designated as such by Tesla, which may include, but is not limited to, causing a metallurgical change to the base material such as heat treating, forging or hardening processes; joining materials by welding, brazing, or other bonding process; or providing a coating or surface treatment such as cleaning, electro-polishing, plating, painting, or anodizing. Upon Tesla’s request, Supplier will use (and cause Sub-tier Suppliers to use) only one or more of the designated suppliers.
