Medically Fragile/Least Restrictive. 1. In the event the Michigan Center School District and the Xxxxxxx Intermediate School District determine that the Michigan Center Schools will provide services to medically fragile special education students not currently enrolled in a regular education classroom setting (who require additional assistance in order to be included in a classroom setting as determined by the Individual Educational Placement Committee meeting), the Board agrees to discuss the issues dealing with these students in a least restrictive environment to find a mutually acceptable disposition for the issue. 2. A general education classroom bargaining unit member shall not be expected to perform routine, scheduled maintenance of a medical appliance or apparatus used by the student to sustain his/her bodily functions or render routine, scheduled care or maintenance of exceptional bodily functions related to the student's impaired condition. Otherwise, it shall be the responsibility of the bargaining unit member to implement the student's individualized educational plan while attending to the educational needs of the student while in the bargaining unit member's class.
