Menstrual cycle Sample Clauses
Menstrual cycle. Studies in healthy females have revealed alterations in inhibition during particular phases in the menstrual cycle. ▇▇▇▇▇ (1999) found that during the follicular phase compared to the luteal phase, cortical excitability was reduced which they attributed to increased progesterone levels during the luteal phase. Conversely, (Hattemer et al., 2006) found decreased inhibition as evidenced by shorter CSP, indicating higher cortical excitability during the luteal phase in cataminal epilepsy patients.
