Common use of Merchant Security Requirements Clause in Contracts

Merchant Security Requirements. 1.1 Merchant must comply with all applicable laws, such as data protection laws (including gathering specific consent of Cardholders for processing and transfer of their personal data, if applicable). 1.2 Merchant must ensure that Cardholder information is securely stored, and that such information is available only to those employees of Merchant who have a legitimate business need and authorization to access the information. 1.3 Merchant must ensure that employees who have access to Cardholder information are aware of, and familiar with Merchant's policies as they relate to the use of such information (and related personal data).
