Common use of Mission and Learning Support Clause in Contracts

Mission and Learning Support. ACF are not eligible for and do not participate in the College's tenure and promotion process, and do not have the same Mission and Learning Support requirements/expectations as full-time tenure-track faculty. ACF support activities include outside-of-class preparation, grading, and routine advising of in-class students relative to the course and subsequent courses in that sequence. The time served as an ACF may not be counted for the purposes of promotion and tenure. However, activities conducted as an ACF that demonstrate advancement and communication of knowledge in the discipline, participation in professional development activities--including diversity, equity, and inclusion--and contribution to the growth and development of the College may be used as evidence of excellence in instruction and instructional support and service should the ACF ever become a tenure-track faculty member and apply for promotion and tenure.
