Common use of Non-Disciplinary Demotion or Termination Clause in Contracts

Non-Disciplinary Demotion or Termination. When an employee is required to attend a meeting, the purpose of which is to demote or terminate him or her for non-disciplinary reasons, he or she is entitled to have, at his or her request, a representative of the Union attend the meeting. The unavailability of the Union representative of choice will not delay the meeting for more than forty-eight (48) hours from the time of notification to the employee.
