Non-licensed Unit Members. The Board will pay the premium for life insurance coverage for non-licensed unit members. The amount of insurance will equal the individual’s base salary, rounded to the nearest $1,000 (minimum $50,000). Life insurance coverage will be reduced by fifty percent (50%) for employees who are seventy (70) years of age or older. An employee retiring from the District may continue at his own expense life insurance coverage in the amount of $50,000 to age sixty five (65). To be eligible for this coverage, the employee must meet the requirements of the IMRF program.
